SYRIZA launches search for coalition partner

Greece’s leftist SYRIZA party lon 26 January aunched its search for a coalition partner after a landslide win in parliamentary elections. Tsipras narrowly missed earning an outright majority in the 300-seat Parliament after defeating the conservative New Democracy party, led by Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. Leftist SYRIZA and the right-wing populist Independent Greeks party agree on little except their mutual hostility towards the terms under which Greece received an international bailout.
