GERMANY-GOVERNMENT-DEFENCE-MILITARY-EQUIPMENT
A report by external experts on the equipment of the German armed forces, Bundeswehr, is displayed in Berlin on October 6, 2014. The study, ordered by German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen, is released shortly after aircraft problems and wider deficiences in defence hardware were revealed. The Bundeswehr had difficulties in the sending of arms and training personnel to Peshmerga Kurdish fighters battling Islamic State jihadists and in the delivery of its Ebola aid mission due to its equipment situation.
